Description
Wonderful Newtown. The inner west of Sydney is where I grew up, Annandale being where our home was. Newtown was my haunt all weekend every weekend in the late 80’s-90’s. Dreadful little flats, crappy jobs up and down King Street, studying and partying. Weekends were spent op-shopping for vintage dresses, we’d duck to Paddy’s Market late on a Sunday to buy cheap boxes of veggies to survive on, and every Friday and Saturday night there would be so many options to go out. Always so much fun!
Since the bushfires hit us here in Mount Victoria in late 2019, I have been developing map tea towels for different regions to reinvigorate tourism. Then Coronavirus hit and we were busy shooing the tourists away. It’s all a little frustrating but it’s inspired me to create maps for different much-loved regions to celebrate our home towns, remember places we cherish and remind ourselves how beautiful Australia truly is.
