'This is a book that I really enjoyed, despite everything. Despite the fact that it was fictionalised and was censored - read this excellent, comprehensive review for more in-depth information - this book is warm. This book is a biography and autobiography all at once; a memorial by one system member of the system members that came before her, the sisters she remembers but never actually met. It humanises, fleshes out and colours the dust-dry and rather dull fictionalised case study of The 3 Faces of Eve into a believable, living story. I know that Chris&'s actual life was different - for a closer-to-life account, read I'm Eve and A Mind of My Own: The Woman Who Was Known as "Eve" Tells the Story of Her Triumph Over Multiple Personality Disorder - but this book, for all its inadequacies, has much to love. The title, 'Strangers in my Body' was chosen by Chris& themselves. The cover is beautiful. And the focus on what it was like for the system members in life, outside of therapy, is what makes this book special and a first of its kind - the first autobiography by a multiple about their experiences.' - Goodreads review

Though it really disturbed me how psychiatrists judged the health or balance or any good trait on "attractiveness". The very last phrase was about "the most attractive". UGH!!! Well of course it was another time, so it's safe to say it was sexist as hell.
