Well a lot has gone on in the past couple of months. We’ve seen bushfires, flooding, our railway track dropped away in Leura, then Coronavirus has landed. It’s stopped us all in our tracks and I feel like it’s been like a train wreck since October 2019.

I’ve taken this time to repaint some of the studio shop, rearranged my working space, taken some time to reflect on it all and on top of it all, homeschool while the schools have been shut across Australia.

We’ve decided to do a trial run of opening the studio shop 30th May 10-2pm. I’ll be insisting everyone hand sanitizes on the way in and we’ll be particularly careful. Kym’s very excited as she gets to wear her fifties dresses and brooches. She feels like it’s like going out again!

If that goes well, we’ll do every second Saturday for a while and see how it goes. Coronavirus presents new obstacles daily across the globe. No one really knows what’s happening with it. I feel like we need to watch for this second wave that we saw with Spanish Flu in 1919. Winter hasn’t hit Australia yet and it gets mighty cold and miserable in the Blue Mountains!

So, 30th May will be a great time to reopen. I have some fun stuff coming for the shop… so stay tuned! x
